Rocky Mountain Gun Owners Filing Suit Against CO Gun Control Laws

Rocky Mountain Gun Owners (RMGO) is filing a lawsuit against the Colorado gun control laws which were passed by recalled senators John Morse (D-Colorado Springs) and Angela Giron (D-Pueblo).

RMGO is working with Pueblo resident John Sternberg and Alpine Arms’ Matt Solomon in bringing the suit, which is aimed at universal background checks and the ban on “high capacity” magazines.

In a column carried by AmmoLand, RMGO executive director Dudley Brown said the plaintiffs recognize the new laws as part of a larger attempt to take away all gun rights: “The simple truth is, if the anti-gunners can’t get an outright ban on all firearms, they’ll dismantle your Second Amendment rights piece by piece–and that’s exactly what’s happening [in Colorado].”

Brown also points to the rules on possession contained with the laws, rules which require gun owners to get a background check to get their firearm back if it is out of their possession for more than 72 hours.

RMGO is the nation’s largest state-based gun lobby. You can learn more about their suit at www.rmgo.org.
