Monday marked the beginning of the second week of testimony in the George Zimmerman trial over the killing of Trayvon Martin. The state called Hirotaka Nakasone, an FBI audio expert, who said that identifying the voice on the 911 call screaming for help is impossible. Comparing screaming to normal speaking voices is impossible, Nakasone said, and added that the audio “is not fit for the purpose of voice comparison.”
Trayvon Martin’s father originally told investigators that the voice on the call was not his son’s voice; the police report stated that Martin’s father lowered his head and said that was not Trayvon screaming. After a group session, which Nakasone said made judgment less reliable, Martin’s father changed his mind.
