Palin to Troops: Post Photos of 'Pro-America' Books by Conservative Authors

On Saturday, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin urged soldiers to post pictures of themselves reading books written by conservatives like Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, and David Limbaugh. Palin did so after an “outrageous” report surfaced that revealed the U.S. Army was punishing a soldier for reading books written by conservative authors. 

“Whether you agree or disagree with this soldier’s opinions, I think we can all agree that the apparent retribution he faced for proudly reading certain authors is outrageous,” Palin wrote. 

Palin was referencing a Todd Starnes report for Fox News that found a “veteran member of the U.S. Army Band” was “facing retribution and punishment from the military” for reading books written by Mark Levin, David Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity and serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches at his promotion party. 

Palin continued, “This IS a battle between liberty and tyranny, as the title of Mark Levin’s book declares.” She noted the conservative authors that soldiers are reportedly not allowed to read while in uniform, “will help more of our loved ones understand this by articulately explaining what the radical Left’s leadership is doing to our country,” and she emphasized that if “more citizens would hear and read Rush, The Great One, et al., the empowerment of the average person would provide the energy and encouragement to take a stand and proclaim, “No more!” 

“We have your back,” Palin proclaimed. 

She said she would love to see photos of “our troops reading any of these apparently ‘banned’ pro-America books,” but advised, “Don’t show your face or name in the photo, perhaps just your liberty-loving hands around a liberty-loving book or hands on a radio dial tuning in to hear the aforementioned conservative leaders speak truth.”

“What is the use in fighting and dying for freedom in far away countries if they take away freedom at home?” Palin wrote. “Post a pic.” Palin posted a photo of herself with a copy of Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny book.

Levin published Liberty and Tyranny two months after Obama was inaugurated and while Obama’s approval levels were astronomically high. The book is significant not only because it predicted much of President Barack Obama’s agenda before his administration had a chance to implement it, but because the book also sold over a million copies, even though the mainstream media ignored it, proving how powerful a force the conservative grass roots are and how effective new media outlets are becoming in helping conservatives circumvent the legacy media.
