Williams-Sonoma Pulls Pressure Cookers

Williams-Sonoma, the huge retail chain selling home furnishings and gourmet cookware, has removed pressure cookers from their shelves because of the Boston Marathon bombing. First indications were that the chain had only instituted the removal in Massachusetts, but now it appears the chain issued a company directive to all its stores to remove the items. In Cranston, Rhode Island, the store manager confirmed that pressure cookers were removed after a company directive stated that the chain didn’t feel it was appropriate to sell them after the bombings.

The manager also said that he felt the ban would not last long. For buyers still interested in pressure cookers, the chain’s website still sells them.
