Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the 19-year-old suspected Boston Marathon bomber who was captured alive last Friday, reportedly dealt drugs on the side for spending money while in college.
Students at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and three people who bought marijuana from Dzhokhar who did not want to be named told the Boston Globe that Dzhokha “earned at least some cash selling marijuana.”
Another person said “there was a permanent stench of marijuana in his room.” Dzhokhar reportedly sold what he did not smoke himself, according to friends.
The students describe Dzhokhar, who received a $2,500 scholarship from the city of Cambridge, as a scholarship student who had money for food and expenses but did not live a lavish lifestyle. He “drove his father’s green 1999 Honda Civic” and also may have had a “mysterious” side business helping friends fix cars.
