Who said this and to whom?
“If you’re not mad about guns, and you’re not sad about guns, then you’re bad about guns.”
Why, it was Jesse Jackson, to the most ardent proponents of gun control in America: inmates in prison.
Actually, those weren’t Jackson’s exact words (although he could have said them) but he did speak to the inmates at Cook County Jail with his annual Christmas day sermon, and in it he urged the criminals to help get guns off the streets, as he is a strong supporter of gun control and an assault weapons ban. He referenced the Sandy Hook massacre, saying it was a tipping point in the argument for gun control, and also mentioned the vast number of killings in Chicago.
Jackson appealing to the one group that would favor gun control more than any other, is so ludicrous it defies rational thought.
Well, he is Jesse Jackson.
