On the Obama campaign website, which is filled with testimonials by the President’s supporters, one particular supporter stands out today: Emily from Ohio. She writes:
“Thanks to Obamacare, I can stay on my mom’s health insurance when I graduate from college in May. That huge relief means that I can spend the next year enjoying my last year of school and searching for the job I want rather than worrying that I won’t be able to afford health care. I can take time and find a job. This relief is worth so much and it is one of the many reasons I am proud to be working on the President’s re-election campaign.”
With our unemployment rate at historic levels, and a historically low participation rate in the workforce, the last thing America needs is more young people taking their time to find a job. If Obama is bragging about incentivizing young people not to look too hard for work, that says something about his belief in the preferred economic structure: laziness glorified, hard work punished.
