In a poll of more than 100,000 Breitbart readers, former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani came out as their preferred choice for Donald Trump’s future secretary of state.

Guiliani, who backed Donald Trump’s campaign to be president, won 36.64 percent of the vote share, and was followed in second place by former U.S Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, who gained 26.23 percent of the vote.

Other candidates in the poll included former CIA Director David Petraeus who won 19.84 percent of the vote, whilst former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who has been widely touted as the most likely pick for the role, received just 8.25 percent.

However several reports have claimed that Mitt Romney must apologise for his disparaging remarks about the President-elect before assuming any kind of office.

The Trump administration has yet to reveal much of its cabinet. Choices so far include Jeff Session as attorney general, Betsy DeVos as secretary of education, and Nikki Haley as ambassador to the United Nations.
