Various marginalized Political Class apparatchiks are weighing in on Donald Trump’s hiring of Breitbart executive chairman Stephen Bannon to become his new campaign CEO.
Not surprisingly, the desperate Establishmentarians are trying to throw cold water on Trump’s personnel move.
#NeverTrump editor Bill Kristol of the declining Weekly Standard called Breitbart “mean-spirited.” Oh my. Good thing the Washington Post’s Bob Costa was there to provide some context for Joe Scarborough’s audience, which clearly has no clue what is going on.
“The beating heart of Trumpism started at Breitbart,” Costa said.

Is Ben Shapiro capable of writing a sentence without including the word “I?”
Marginal Daily Caller writer (and former “senior editor”) Jamie Weinstein announced that he will spend Trump’s presidency on some kind of beach, where his lifestyle and that of his Huffington Post fiance Michelle Fields will presumably be financed by money that Weinstein did not earn himself in the world of journalism.
Former Ted Cruz employee Amanda Carpenter, who was on Don Lemon’s CNN panel for the convention in Cleveland but was not brought back for Lemon’s stint in Philadelphia, highlighted her own tweet and got 37 re-tweets as of this writing.
Republican Establishment featherweight Stuart Stevens of the failed Mitt Romney campaign called Bannon a “Witch Doctor.”
“Not even joking,” said Fox News bore Guy P. Benson about the news, underscoring the fact that Guy P. Benson is not a funny person. As this reporter has often said, the “P.” in “Guy P. Benson” really ties the whole character together.
In other news, the #NeverTrump Establishment has lost power, credibility, and influence. Their thoughts and opinions are now largely irrelevant as Trump faces off against Clinton.
Smarter political minds like Corey Lewandowski and Roger Stone, who recently feuded, are united in support of Bannon.
“You know, if you look at Steven Bannon and what they’ve built at Breitbart, it’s win-at-all costs. And I think that really makes some people on the left very afraid because they’re willing to say and do things that others in the mainstream media wouldn’t do,” Lewandowski said on CNN.
#NeverTrump pundit Erick Erickson reported on false “rumors” that Breitbart Washington Political Editor Matthew Boyle was going to join the Trump campaign alongside Bannon. Erickson added an update on his blog that included Breitbart editor-in-chief Alex Marlow’s denial that Boyle was jumping to the campaign.
With 82 days to go, Trump supporters will do best to tune out the Twitter aristocracy and focus on getting the vote out in swing state suburbs and rural areas.
As Lee Atwater said, “Play dumb and keep moving.”
