Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump’s campaign manager Paul Manafort said Trump will announce his vice presidential pick on Friday in New York City ahead of the Republican National Convention next week in Cleveland, Ohio.
“We will be making an announcement on Friday,” Manafort told the Wall Street Journal during a brief interview at the Westin hotel in Cleveland. “It will be in New York.”
Trump met with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) in Indiana on Wednesday — all three are reportedly on Trump’s short list for VP. Trump also previously met with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who is also on Trump’s VP list.
